We’re very proud of this recent transformation for a family in High Springs! We made several easy adjustments to a "typical" renovation plan to make everyday life easier for our clients.
We removed walls enclosing the kitchen, that had created a difficult to negotiate bottleneck. At the owner’s request, we provided a lowered counter at the end of the kitchen giving him the ability to work from his wheelchair. Existing walls surrounding a living room and dining room came down as well to create a great room plan.
We were able to open up the master bathroom considerably also, removing the walls and curb previously enclosing the shower. This gives the ability to transfer easily to a built-in bench for seated showering. A lowered vanity sink, with knee space below gives further ease of access.
Proof that accessibility, and the ability to age-in-place can be beautiful and seamless as well. We would love to collaborate with you to create the home of your dreams!
