Roomy ADU With All the Necessities
Farms of Kanapaha Project Spotlight
This ADU was designed with everyday living in mind. It's a space that feels welcoming, comfortable, and complete, while still connected to the larger property. From the beginning, the goal was to create an accessory home that supports privacy, flexibility, and long-term use.
Inside, natural light and thoughtful planning shape a calm, livable layout that feels easy to settle into. Outside, the ADU opens naturally toward the screened pool enclosure, strengthening the connection between indoor comfort and outdoor gathering.
Together, the home, pool, and surrounding landscape create a setting that feels intentional, balanced, and built for time well spent.

THE KITCHEN & DINING AREA
The kitchen and dining area in this ADU were created to feel welcoming and complete. It's a space that feels like home from the moment you step inside. Natural light fills the room throughout the day, softening the clean lines of the cabinetry and giving the space a calm, comfortable ease.
At the heart of the kitchen, a generous island in a deeper, grounding tone offers a natural place to gather. It’s the kind of spot made for casual meals, morning coffee, and everyday conversation.
Bright white cabinetry keeps the space feeling open and airy, while warm wood touches and brass hardware add just the right amount of warmth and character. The layout makes thoughtful use of the footprint without ever feeling cramped.
Just beyond the island, the dining area flows naturally from the kitchen, creating a simple setting for shared meals and quiet moments alike. Large windows frame views of surrounding greenery, bringing a soft connection to the outdoors and reinforcing the relaxed feel of North Florida living.

THE LIVING AREA
The living area was designed to flow naturally from the kitchen and dining space, creating an open, comfortable spot that feels easy to spend time in. The palette is soft and neutral, with just enough texture and warmth to make the room feel inviting without being overly formal.
Everything about the layout feels simple and intentionally connected to the rest of the ADU, but still cozy and grounded. Warm wood accents and subtle lighting add a relaxed sense of balance that keeps the space feeling comfortable and lived-in.
One of the standout features is the way the room opens directly to the screened pool enclosure through large sliding glass doors.
It’s a connection that brings in natural light and makes the living area feel even more open, while tying the entire space back to the outdoors and the surrounding landscape.
The Sleeping Area
The bedroom was designed to feel like a true place to unwind: simple, restful, and free of distraction. Soft finishes and natural textures give the space a comfortable, grounded feel. It’s the kind of space that feels easy to settle into at the end of the day.
Large glass doors bring in daylight and offer a gentle connection to the outdoors, adding to the room’s peaceful atmosphere. The layout feels easy, with just the right amount of space to feel comfortable without losing that sense of retreat.
The bathroom sits just beyond, carrying the same thoughtful attention to detail. A clean, modern vanity with understated brass accents adds warmth, while durable surfaces and simple choices keep the space practical for everyday living.
The walk-in shower is equally well considered, with crisp tilework, a built-in bench, and a clear glass enclosure that keeps everything feeling bright and uncluttered.

The Laundry Room
The laundry room was designed to be efficient without feeling purely utilitarian.
Again, clean lines, durable finishes, and a simple layout make everyday tasks feel straightforward and manageable, while thoughtful details keep the space comfortable and cohesive with the rest of the ADU.
Custom cabinetry provides closed storage to keep the room organized, while a deep utility sink and generous counter space support folding, handwashing, and everyday use.
As in the other spaces in this cozy ADU, natural light from the window softens the space and reinforces the calm, livable feel.

The Connection to the Main Home
From the outside, this ADU feels like it has always belonged there.
Its rooflines, materials, and overall scale echo the main home, so it reads as a natural part of the property rather than something added on later. The exterior is simple and understated, allowing it to settle in comfortably.
What really makes the design special is the way it connects to the screened pool enclosure. With the ADU opening directly toward the pool, the space encourages an easy back-and-forth between indoor comfort and outdoor time together. The screened enclosure adds a sense of privacy and protection, while still keeping everything open to light and greenery.
Seen as a whole, the relationship between the main house, pool, and ADU feels thoughtful and well planned. Each area is distinct, but tied together in a way that makes the entire property feel more connected.
